Stephen Willis is a co-founder together with Andrew Taee of
Carlton Corporate Finance. Stephen is a Managing Director of
Carlton Corporate Finance and a Director of Carlton Partners.
Stephen has twenty years of corporate experience as a banker,
corporate treasurer and corporate finance practitioner and
adviser to public and private companies.
Prior to founding Carlton Corporate Finance, Stephen was a
Managing Director of Dial Corporate Finance. Previously, he was
Corporate Finance Director at FTSE 100 mining group Billiton
plc, having joined Billiton as Group Treasurer. He was a member
of the management team which implemented the leveraged
acquisition of the Billiton metals and mining division of Shell,
its subsequent restructuring and merger with the non-precious
metals businesses of Gencor Limited, culminating in the IPO of
Billiton Plc in 1997. Stephen set up Billiton's corporate
finance function in London, from where he led various corporate
transactions and feasibility projects for Billiton before
leaving the group in 1999 to become more actively engaged as a
corporate finance advisor to owner managed companies around the
world.
Previously, he was a Vice President of Citibank and has also
held senior corporate finance and treasury roles with
multinational companies operating in the retailing, petroleum
and mining sectors.
Stephen holds an MBA in International Finance from the
University of Michigan and an MA in History and Law from
Cambridge University (Magdalene).
