Sir Francis Mackay is Chairman of Carlton Partners LLP.
In October 2006 he joined the Board of ISS as Vice
Chairman of one of the world’s largest Facility Service
providers, with market presence in Europe, Asia, South
America, and Australia.
Sir Francis was previously Chairman of Compass Group PLC,
managing the Group through the buyout from its former parent
company, Grand Metropolitan, in 1987 and through its
successful floatation in 1988 – becoming Chief Executive in
1991. Following a restructure of the executive board he
became Executive Chairman of the Group in June 1999 and
stepped down in June 2006. Francis was responsible for the
Group’s international development – through organic growth
and by acquisition – and has achieved the implementation of
sector-specific subsidies and the use of foodservice brands.
Francis was also Chairman of Kingfisher PLC for four and
a half years until May 2006. He began his career in
financial positions with such companies as LCS Ltd, SGT PLC,
and Finance Director of Global Ltd (part of GUS PLC).
